I have a client whose Access DB populates their internal website. The website in an Inventory setup. The client does NOT have the Access app on his machine.
All web pages are .asp. Each time a link is clicked or a page is displayed, the .asp page establishes a connection to the DB and either extracts data to populate the web page or inputs data to the DB from the entries on the web page using SQL statements.
I want to change the Auto Compact option to True so that the DB will automatically compress on close. But by copying the DB and taking it back to my PC to make the change, the client would not be able to modify any data during that time frame.
How can I incorporate this change using an .asp page live on the client's PC?
