Hi,

If I use the Rectangle Tool, I can insert text, and click on the "Align Center" Icon, and the text moves to the center.

If I use the Ellipse Tool, I can insert text, but when I try and click on the "Align Center" Icon, I get the circle with the black line indicating I can't do this.

Is there some other way to move the text inside an Ellipse to the center??

thanks,
joey

Afer you draw the elipse, use the selction tool and right click on it and select Content. Select text. You can then use the various justification settings under Paragraph.

Additional formatting is available by selecting the elepse, that's had its content made test, and going to Object menu/TExt frame options.

Thanks,

But it seems that neither of those options will let you center vertically.

Paragraph only allows horizontal center.

It is strange that Rectangle allows you to center vertically though. And I found that if you round the corners of the Rectangle, you then lose the vertical center, and the text jumps to the top.

See the Object menu/Text frame options/inset spacing. Increasing will move text down in eliptical text frame. It will also move things in from sides, so you have to increase width of elipse.
