How to center section where fields are printed across then down

Hello. I'm using CR 9 and SQL Server. I have a detail section with a field which a section is set to print "Across then Down". This is fine as long as there are more than few records since the line would be evenly spaced. If 1 or 2 records, it's justified to the left which doesn't look right. How could I print the section across then down and centered. Thanks.
