How to capture pc hardware information

hi there, i just want to ask how to capture the hardware information and then store into a txt file. Just like capture the harddisk, BIOS, Chipset registry or serial number which is unique for each computer. Now i'm trying to do some security function and need to capture this information.

WMI!!!

OR you can redirect msinfo32 to a text file with the following switch:

msinfo32 /report c:\report.txt

there are other switches to limit what info msinfo32 returns!

Just do a keyword search in this forum on serial numbers. You'll find many of our previous discussions on this.

But before you do so, be aware that - since you are looking for a simple unique PC ID - almost all of them say the same thing: there isn't one
