I have a Merlin Magix switchboard whit no groups configuration, all staff uses a pre configured button on his phone extensions to make announcements, I think this programmed button has the "General Announcement" function.

Now we need to cancel announcements for only two extension numbers.

I've been in touch with the company that does regular maintenance to this switchboard but according them, you can’t cancel general announcement for any extension.

The only problem that I have is how we actually have four extensions without the announcements if it’s supposed that we can’t cancel general announcements for any extension?

My question is can anyone tell me how can I cancel announcements for another extensions?

Thanks.

IT sounds like you do not want a VOICE ANNOUNCED CALL OF ANY TYPE for these extensions.

Yes, That can be done, however, you must understand, there is a way to STOP ALL VOICE CALLS to these Extensions, or you can STOP VOICE CALLS TO THESE EXTENSIONS when they are busy.

At the "BIG PHONE" -

Do Menu > System Programming > Start > More (Right Arrow) Cntl Prog > Program Ext > ...Enter the extension Number > Enter > Press the RIGHT ARROW until you see VOICE ANNOUNCE > Press that button and then press RECEIVE > Now you can choose either ON, OFF or IDLE, ON MEANS IT WILL ALWAYS GET A VOICE CALL (IF it is not a TDL Phone) OFF means it will NEVER GET A VOICE CALL, and IDLE MEANS IT WILL ONLY GET A VOICE CALL IF IT IS NOT BUSY (Provided again, that it is not a TDL Phone).

That should do it.

Hi merlinman thanks for the prompt answer.

I try the instructions you give me but when I enter the extension number and enter, a screen appears with the extension number and two options to select 1: "sys program" to go back to sys programming and 2 "Enter".

If I press Enter, two options appear on the screen, "page 1" (blinking) and "page 2", it doesn't allow me to use right arrow as you instruct me, what should I do with this two options?.

Many thanks
