Hi, I was just assigned to deal with all the phone ext administration in our company.
System I have is Avaya 4424LD+ and I'm a noob

I have following issue: One of the users wants to forward all his calls to his direct dial/extension to his cell phone, however his cell phone is considered long distance. Our employees are required to enter a long distance code for any long distance, with the exception of the user in question (he is the boss). I know how to forward the call to an outside number. However when someone does call they get the typical long dial tone that prompts to enter your account code. How can I disable that function for my bosses extension?

Thank you for any help and/or advice

This sounds like something the Service Provider is doing.

Thus, you will have to take it up with them, OR if you have some lines that are not part of that setup with the provider, you may be able to allow this user the ability to forward using one of those lines.

We had a real estate company with a similar setup. You dial a LD number, and you hear another dial tone from the Long Distance provider. Then dial the account code, and if it is valid, the call goes through.

You might try programming the forwarding number with a series of pauses and then the Long Distance account code. The HOLD button adds the 1.5 second pause.

So try pressing the Forward button, dialing 9-(boss's cell number)-Hold-Hold-Hold-(account code)-#

You may need to change the number of pauses to get it to work.
