How to buy 2801 router?

Dears,

I need help regarding building a new laboratory, right now I am planning to start to buy my
first router, as of now there is some advertisement in the net that he is selling his 2801 Cisco Router
for the price of 300USD with the following "Basic Configuration" from the actual equipment according to the seller.

I just did a quick look on eBay - Cisco 2801s have a Buy it Now price of about $500 to $600, Cables and Kits has a 2801 for $639.

Is the $300 a starting bid price or is this the price he is selling it for, if it is a bid price, by close of auction I bet it is closer to $500 to $600, if he is selling it for $300 I would want to know WHY ??????

As for testing it, you can plug it in and attach a console cable and watch the output, let it run for at least 15 - 20 min and watch for errors, sh a show run, a show version as well as show tech-support.

Good luck and just be careful you don't get stuck with a $300 doorstop!! If it is to good to be true .........

If this does turn out as "questionable" you can easily get some Cisco 2610XM, 2620XM or 2650XM routers with a 12.4 IOS and several WIC1Ts on eBay or at Cables and Kits and put together a nice lab for $300 to $500.

Cisco 3640s are also nice but you have to get Network Modules for Ethernet and WIC support.

I saw 2 2610XMs with 2 2924XL switches, 2 WIC 2Ts, all the cables and FREE FTP access to any Cisco 2600XM IOS as well as CCNA study material for about $300.

Some good deals on eBay but don't get stuck with a "brick" or some of the "CCNA Labs" offered that are all Cisco 2500 routers and Cisco 1900 Switches. Read between the lines and look at what the seller is selling and what others have said about the prior sales!!
