Hello,
My company is in the process of upgrading our application (trading application). I'm a little paranoid about insatlling the new version of the application.

I want to install a second hard drive and install solaris on the second hard drive, then install the new version of our application. If this does not work, I'll have the convenience of booting to the old hard drive.

Being an Windows Admin, I'm not sure how to accomplish this. Can I install a second hard drive and use the format utility to configure what I need to configure? Can someone point me to a site so I can get proper instructions?

Thank you in advance,
Carlo

After install Second hand drive, run
# devfsadm, this will do the confugration job
in order to check if hard drive is installed
press Stop A to go at OK prompt
at Ok promtp run probe-scsi-all
to if the hard drive is there.

at OK boot cdrom
if your system have two disks, the first one is
c0t0d0 and second one c0t1d0
then select second disk to install the solaris which cot1d0.

ok boot disk ==> booting first disk c0t0d0
0k boot disk1 ==> booting second disk1 c0t1d0
.
