How to block File sharing - Urgent Help needed

I was surpirsed to find an email from my ISP today where they inform me that my account has been used for illegal sharing of copyright content.

I discovered that my room mate has been downloading movies of the web and they somehow found ot about it. The email that i have recieved tells me the ip address, host name , file name etc ( so much for privacy ! )
and it also says that bit torrent was used to share this file.
Now I am pissed of highly and would like to block all but legitmate access of the web for my room mate.

Can I block all ports except port 80 for just one client using a D LINK router.
Will that solve my problem. Does anyone have any better solutions ..like bashing my room mates head with a sledge hammer

Did you look at your D-Link router documentation for ways to block all traffic except port 80?

Follows Bill's advice, then lock down your system (create a user account, complex password, and shut it down nightly).

Deny them access to the system...um...right after running a complete malware checkup of course.

it sounds as if the roommate is using his own system to download this via a broadband dlink router.

Yes. LloydSev is correct. I tried blocking the ports and it worked. But anyways the best thing I could think of is to transfer ownership of the account to his name, which I have done today. Now he should think twice before downloading copyright stuff from the web !
