How to Begin with PL/SQL development?

I am the Oracle novice, and I hope that somebody will be able to help me. I want to create a simple database using PL/SQL, and I installed Personal Edition 8i on my home machine. I designed E-R model, and now I want to create the corresponding data structure using PL/SQL. How can I do that? When I run SQL Plus I got console screen. How can I use DDL statements to define the tables. Do I need Application Server to develop an interface? Since I am total begginer any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have a look at the CREATE TABLE statement in your documentation. Get back to us if you have any more problems.
