I was wondering how can I go into business or operations side of healthcare? So typically I would apply to Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst and Decision Suppport jobs. I studied Business Analysis where I took courses in Regression, Optimization, and statistics. I am currently a database programmer in a hospital's research department. I have experience programming in SAS, VBA and SQL. I also used Crystal Reports in my previous job. My problem is that I lack experience in arriving conclusion with data. I do extract data and create reports in MS Access. Just as a programmer I don't look at the data and make any sort of conclusions. I just make sure the data I pull out is correct.

Look for programs or classes in Hospital Administration - to give you a higher level view of how your technical tools can be used in the efficient operation of Hospitals in general... ask for a small project where you can work directly with a user department to help analyze a problem - you may have more background than you realize, and just need to step back away from the details to learn how your work has been needed, and how it was used.
