Hello.

Is it possible to be notified of the start and/or end of any other application (via windows message, event or whatever)?
My program does not (necessarily) needs this notification immediately, so a "last application launched" info would do. The solution should work for both Win9x and Win2000.

I could not find any MSDN information about it yet.

Any information, hint, idea, link or keyword would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

ps: I am using MSVC++ 6 / Win2000

one general idea is to see windows hooks, I'm not sure. Also you can see IShellLink implementation. John Fill

IShellLink won't help, but windows hook may be the key.
I will try it.

Thank you, John.

Since you want the solution to portable on both Win9x and 2000, you might wanna take a look at a tip i posted a while ago:
