I am newbee to networker. We have new requirement to backup our vmware enviornment using NW 7.6.1. Any body has any process or steps ?

Using onlx Networker you can do it 2 ways :
1. Install the networker Client on every vm.
Buy the "Virtual Edition Client" for every virtualisation host from emc, then your vms do not need any additional licenses except for database moidules if applicable.
Even the database moduls need only to be licensed once for every virtualisation host.

2. You can use the VCB Framework but this is discontinued by vmware, the new vstorage api should be supported by networker starting with release 7.6.2 but this is unofficial.
VCB does not need any licenses except one client license for the Backup-Proxy.This should be one Windows2003 Server, 2008 is workinhg but is unsupported with NW7.6.
You have to shutdown any databases with a pre-freeze script prior to backup. Microsoft SQL and Exchange Databases can stay online because of the VSS snapshots if you are using esx later than 3.5 Update2.
The restore is a bit tricky because the newest vmware converter edition do not longer accept vcb images.
The best way is do create a vcbRestore dcript on your esx-Servers to do so.
