We might have to unistall RCC application and install it again. I don't want to loose any historical data. How and what should I back up?

Thank you,

When you uninstall RCC Mysql and all the data remains in place so when you reinstall nothing is lost..

If you need to reinstall MySql you will have to first stop the Mysql service and make a backup of the CCRDB folder located in C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 4.1\data

Good luck

one more question... Is there a way to purge some of the old data from those tables?

Thank you,

no ! well not officially Nortel will tell you to default the database, i`m trying to work that out at the moment, but mysql is not my area of expertise

so far i know all the data base password and can manage the data base from a windows gui mysql interface, and i know the tables that reporting data is kept in, i just need to figure out the correct query...

I think that I actually found the solution of how to purge the database directly from RCC. I have not test it yet, though...

Under the "Maintenance" menu in RCC, there is an option "Purge Database". That should do the trick, but like I said, I have not try it yet...

Thanks for your help anyway!

I will try is on a test system tomorrow, never noticed that option
