How to backup Information Store and Directory Store with BE 8.6 Build

I am trying to get Backup Exec to make a backup copy of the actual files that make up the Information Store(\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv.edb,pub.edb, and edb.log) and Directory Store (\exchsrvr\dsadata\dir.edb and edb.log). But in order to do this I have to stop the Exchange 5.5 services to make a backup copy via B.E. I would also like to automate this process and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on doing this?
