Hello,

Pardon me for my funny question, but I have keep trying to backup the mailboxes of my exchange but I still have a "access denied" error message of the job logs.

The procedure that I make was.

On my Media server.
1. I have installed Veritas 8.6 base product.
2. I have installed the Exchange Agent
3. I have installed the Remote agent

On my Client Server or Target Server.
1. I have installed only the remote agent.

My procedure to backup on my exchange was
1. I have to check
a. Exchange Directory Services
b. Exchange Information Store
c. Exchange Mailbox - which ask me of my a username.
* then I type the username .

but unfortunately ... my mailbox backup has failed.

Did I miss something?
Maybe you have a better solution to share.

Thanks Guyz,

Jerry

You also need the exchange administrator on your media server, and a mailbox on exchange for the user that is running backup exec.

-------------------------------

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

You'll also need a MAPI agent, like Microsoft Outlook installed. But, make sure not to use Outlook XP, I had some aweful troubles with it (even though Veritas says SP1 fixes it).

If all else fails, run the command "FIXMAPI" and see if that helps. I just had that same problem for the last too weeks, and that simple command fixed it.
