Hello,

I've a Solaris client with a big oracle database (>1,5 TB) located under 5 directories, but with many 2 GB files not spread. (One directory was 800 TB). In my client, I've only 5 savesets (because files are just under the first directory level, and I can't move them). The big saveset (800 TB) was very very long to save.

So I decide to create unix links to spread files under this links in order to create many savesets saving links. But it does not work. I've tried to put save -x with GUI for my client but unsuccessful.

Can anyone help me ? Even if I'm wrong in my thought :)

Thanks

Enter the absolute pathname in the sabe set list. This should do the job.

Thanks, but I have a lot of files !

I decide, after some reflexion, to create directories and make them pointing to a NFS mount on the client himself, thus making networker to cross mount-points by the way of the 'x' option in the GUI save command field.

Testing with savegrp -n gives me a correct value size for savesets to be saved.

I'll however ask my Networker support for confirmation about unix links...
