How to backup a database on one machine and recover on the other.

Hi! i have a quick question, i need to backup a database i have on sun solaris(sparc) mysql and then recover it on a sun solaris(intel) mysql. is there a quick way of doing it other than writting a php/perl script to do it..somethign like an sql query or something.
