hello experts,

we developed an application in VB6 and MSAccess 97 which is installed in about a 1000 windows NT machines. The application interacts with the Access database which reside in the user's local PC.

Now in one such PC the application eats up 100% of the CPU memory...

can you tell us why and a remedy too..

thanks

rumman

Hi, I have had this problem myself with an excel spreadsheet containing a great many Active X controls.
The problem seems to be that when you open up the sheet excel goes away to see if the controls are already there, whilst this is going on nothing happens. Microsoft acknowledge this as a problem. I am running Windows 2000 Pro and by following the path below i found a temp folder with 3,546 files in it.

My Computer/c:/Documents & Settings/Your User Name/Local Settings/Temp

In Microsoft KB they have a workround for excel perhaps they have one for Access also

this is the article number XL2000: File Opens Very Slowly (Q299372)
