Hello all,

i have made a database with a new mdw file for security. Since i have about 20 databases of which 1 is secured i like to know how to automatically return to the standard system.mdw.
To start my secured database i use the commandline option. But how can i return to system.mdw once i close this database?

Many thanks!!!

Does the startup option of workgroup info in a shortcut, change the default workgroup file?

Open your secure db with the shortcut. In a module press Ctl+G and write
? SysCmd(acSysCmdGetWorkgroupFile)
and then press Enter. This should give you the full path and name of the workgroup file.

Close the db and open an unsecured one and do the same. Is that the default of access or not?

I'm guessing that you used wrkgadm from the 'Run' box to change to the security mdw? And now you want to go back to the standard system.mdw?

As Jerry alluded, you can use a shortcut option /wrkgrp "C:\somepath\somesecurity.mdw" to open up only that secured .mdb with the security file while all default instances of access are with the standard .mdw.

You first need to rejoin the default system.mdw using the wrkgadm tool.

...sorry flippertje, I misread your post and assumed you needed to get the current mdw in use. Please subtract me a star...!
