Hey guys,

I have have an idea to assist with the failover of my DHCP server besides a backup server. Im sure some of you understand what the Alternate address is used for. In my case, if the DHCP server goes down and my backup server does not pickup, i want the all my client computers to have static ip addressed in the alternate configuration.

Problem is, i do not want to go to each client to configure this. Ii want to know if there is an easier way to issue these private IP's from a specified range.

If not i will send my guys to manually enter this information.

Thank you.

Do not pray to have an easier life, pray to be a stronger man!!!

First, this was posted in the wrong forum.

Second, why is a backup server not being considered? Following Microsoft's 80/20 rule, you can maintain some redundancy with this method.
