how to auto-kill anormal long-queries ?

I've a small memory system (128Mg) and a big forum in php running...
all works fine, but sometimes, a long query such as a search, blocks all the others queries, and the processlist become bigger and bigger, and it take many time to rewind in a normal situation...
How can i do to avoid this ?
