how to assign the value of input box to a variable?

hi, i have this code:
<input type="text" name="dis3_oid_box" size="15">

i'm trying to grab the value of the data in this box.
how would i code this in asp, please.
i know it may be a simple thing, but i can't think of the syntax right now.

Assuming the textbox is in a form, and you have submitted the form, this will work.

response.write(request.form("dis3_oid_box"))
