Hello,

I am wondering how to have an employee be assigned to two revenue centers based on their job for that day as I have one employee that will be working in the kitchen at night cashing out cooked takeout orders in my restaurant some days and other days they will be in my fresh seafood store cashing out customers, based on where I need them most that day. My seafood restaurant and fresh seafood store are setup under separate revenue centers under the same micros 3700 system so I can access both menus from either place and better and more easily sell my fresh and cooked products. However, I do not know how to setup the one employee to work in both my store and restaurant and have the checks they cash out and credit cards they process go to the proper revenue center. This is important to me because my Micros 3700 POS is setup not only to use two revenue centers, but also setup so each each revenue center has it's own separate merchant services account linked to it that it uses to process the credit cards since the store restaurant have their own bank accounts that their credits card sales are deposited into. Can someone tell me how to setup this employee correctly so their sales process into the correct revenue center and their credit card sales are processed using the proper merchant services account based on where they are working that day?

Thank you,

In 3700 you cant "assign" people to multiple revenue centers at the same time.
You can either change the revenue center that they're currently in everytime they move or you can give them permissions to change revenue center themselves and trust them to go into the correct revenue center.
The sales will go against whatever revenue center they are currently signed into and whatever revenue center the check is currently in.

If the check is created and closed in the "restaurant" revenue center then the sales will go against that revenue center.
If the check is created in the "restaurant" revenue center the only way the sales would go against a different revenue center is if the check is transferred to the store.

You can also assign the revenue center at the job level, so they clock in to the right job they get the right revenue center. If you lock down the workstations to a single revenue center it will also prevent them from using the wrong job in the wrong revenue center.

OK Thank you, I was going to have the employee just work in the one area for the day so I'll setup the two jobs for them and assign them the two jobs and see what happens. That's not to hard to do is it? I'll just make sure I set them up with one job set to the store revenue and one store set to the restaurant revenue center. I also use the Micros fro the employees time clock if that makes a difference.

Thank you,

That makes perfect sense. You generally do not want an employee bouncing between revenue centers during a single shift. The general purpose (one of them) for revenue centers is to separate sales and labor costs between the two.

It is not hard to set up 2 jobs. Just copy record of one and paste it to create two identical jobs, then change the name of the new job and the default revenue center to what you need.

BootstrapperRI I am going to do exactly as you say, I just wanted to make sure I had the right procedure for doing so before I messed with anything, as I did not want to mess anything up as my current job list in the Micros 3700 POS only lists restaurant jobs and no store jobs and I will now be adding my first store job to the employee job list on the Micros POS. Since Micros was setting it up for both businesses, I think my local Micros office should have added a job or jobs to the employee job list for the store revenue center when they programmed the system, to make it easy for me to use an employee in either revenue center, but they did not. All my current store employees have no jobs assigned to them, just a store revenue center clerk that was created for them when the system was installed a few years ago which works, but not with this one employee I want to move between both places.

Thank you so much for your answer as it was exactly what I was looking for.
