IF YOU CREATE A WEB APPLICATION THRU IIS - WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE - AND THEN IN VI where/how do u pick up that web application? Is it thru the wizard?
thanks for your response!

in vi:
Add new project
key in a suitable project name an place on your local drive for a local COPY to be created.
locate your server - it will not list the web in the drop-down list.
use the 'create new web' option - and key in the exact name of the web site.
click finish (unless you want themes and navigation thingies added)

VI will NOT delete your existing web - but it will add the VI subdirectories (_scriptLibrary, _private) and it will add the configuration 'tweeks' to FrontPageServerExtensions for that site so that it knows in the future to list this site in the VI sites list.

I know that Add Site does not sound like the correct option, but its ok - honest! (Content Management)
