Hi

I would like to know if their is a way to setup archiving of all emails that are sent and received in MS small business server 2003 so that they can be accessed at a later date by certain users?

You can enable journaling and point to a unique mailbox set up for journaling. All mail delivered inbound/outbound/internal would go to that mailbox and could be looked at later. Downside is that this doubles the rate at which your Information Store grows.

Normally the journaling feature is used in conjunction with 3rd-party products that monitor the journaling inbox and archive the mail to a database.

Exclaimer ( and GFI ( both have products suitable for the SBS space. I've deployed both of them, and am more comfortable with GFI's offering only because I've deployed it more often.

There are also 3rd party agents like that provided by MXLogic as part of a larger anti-spam and compliance solution that will allow you to do the same thing, but they store the mail archive off-site and give you an HTML interface for accessing those archived messages.

Thanks for the advice.

I will have a look at the options you suggested.
