I am new to Linux & have recently installed OS RedHat Linux 7.1 and found that there are hundreds of security updates (*.rpm files) on their website. Is there a simpler way to apply these updates i.e. cumulative update. Thanx.

Personally, I wouldn't really bother with all the security updates, but that is up to you. A lot of them aren't essential and not needed in most situations. You should be able to automatically let the RHN connect and download necessary updates, although I can't remember if RH7.1 has this feature. Have a look around an see though.
