We are a small team of web designers and often, clients ask for a way to be able to replace or update the content of some pages themselves. We would appreciate any suggestion about existing solutions and would also be interested in any proposal to write a program that would provide such a solution.
Some of our clients don't know how to use FTP or what FTP is, so the soultion must take that into account.
Thank you all

I would recommend that you consider Cold Fusion web application. This can be built in a short period of time and is a very flexible solution. You would need to have a Cold Fusion capable host; a host who has Cold Fusion running on the web server. There are many hosts available. Cold Fusion is a datasource-to-web application development language. It is tag-based, so is a lot like HTML to learn and deploy. The datasource can be a text file, spreadsheet, or database, and stores the information that changes. So, when your client wants to change the content on his website, he really is changing the information stored in the datasource. The next time the website is requested by a browser, the page is dynamically generated from the new data and hence is "changed". The client could change the information, including text and files (like images) using just a browser. This is an easy and popular application for Cold Fusion. Visit the Cold Fusion forum for more information. John Hoarty

I use ASP for this.

I've set up a site you can visit that I refer my potential clients to so that they can see the kind of things we can do.

This type of thing requires no programming knowledge on the part of the site owner, and they need no software other than a browser. The only catch is that they need to be hosted on a server that can run ASP.

Check out the link for yourself. If you would like any help getting started, just let me know.
