How to administer T208M DialNumber? 1

I'm running a Coral 500. I have a phone (T208M) that has no Dial Number associated with it (the original DN was taken off and used for a Boss Group by someone else-no longer here), it is Index #366.
How do I get a DN associated with this phone?
I have tried: 9-IP; 1-IPports; 0-Keyset; 0-INDEX; 0-UPDATE; Index 366, but I can't input the DN there:
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
FROM INDEX#- 0 366
TO INDEX#- 366
Any specific data field (type ? for help)
- dial
Keyset
366
------------
DIAL_NUMBER - --
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
I've pulled my hair out running through the NPL and the FAQ description "Create a new extension on Tadiran Coral PBX" but that doesn't work either (what Shelf,Slot,Circuit?) since this is an IP station. I tried to use one of the GW cards for shelf, slot but there is no circuit# to input.
In short, I'm wishing mightily for an Avaya or cisco Call Manager either of which I could quickly & easily configure. How is this done on the mysterious Tadiran?
Thanks for any help.

You're close but not quite :)

You add numbers, any type of number, in NPL. When you add a new number it asks you for the type (1=SLT, 2=Keyset, 5=Boss Group etc) and I believe from memory that IP Keyset (for T20xM and FlexSet-IP) is 41 (??). So you add your xtn number, select type 41 and then it'll ask you for the position. If it was a physical device eg trunk, SLT, Keyset then you'd have a shelf/slot/circuit but it's not a physical device, it's an IP device so you use the Index. You know it's on Index 399 so add the new number to that Index and away you go.

When adding numbers for other non-physical things eg groups then you also use Indexes. From memory after you've selected the type ie 1,2,41 it will prompt you for (Shelf/Slot/Circuit, or Index) so it does tell you. I can't remember exactly cos I just type it all in one long string and don't follow the prompts, but that's from memory.

lol at the Avaya/Cisco comment! Give it time. What do you expect for something you had never seen before? I taught myself on the Coral and within 6mths I was putting in 6000 port systems. But there's no substitute for having the manual and/or a training course. I'd look into that. Unfortunately we're not allowed ot post links to the manuals on here so you might have to get on a course.

Thanks! once again. I AM getting the hang of the Coral SW. Your answer was what I needed (I was trying Keyset Type 2 -- Type 41 works perfectly!)
I got that phone working, can now assign unused extensions in our switch through NPL, have created Boss Groups and examined our Hunt Groups so I think I understand those and I have successfully rolled out FlexiCall (using Priv.Lib 7000) which was not done here before so I am making progress...I need to make a list of all our index #'s.

I do need the manuals but not able to find them online so I'm doing the best I can.
My predecessor had only a short time to show me the basics.
Finding this forum has been a life-saver for me.

Sounds like you're getting the hang of it. Just takes a bit of time, just like anything.

As for the manuals, this particular forum frowns on posting links to download manuals. Something about copyright infringement, although most manuals I know of don't have copyright notices listed. Anyway. The PI programming manual is about 6-7MBish but there's a full CD/DVD of over 700MB of all the hardware, programming, software etc manuals. You'll need to get in touch with a Tadiran reseller or go on a course to get that. Tadiran resellers have access to login to their site to download all sorts.

Are you in the US? If so, have a look at There's also the International page at
Good luck :)
