So I set up a short code of #XXX for our general voicemail but when I dial #420 and hear the default greeting I can't press any key to log in and change the greeting/options.
So say I have User A in a Hunt group that has voicemail enabled. How does that person access the messages in that specific group mailbox if you aren't forwarding vm to email or anything?
Press 8 to interrupt the greeting and then you will be prompted for password. You have to have a password set to access a RG voicemail box. At least that is how it seems to work for me.
After you put the passcode then press 3 to get to the voicemail greeting center.
So we used the source numbers option and it works great. However we are still having issues recording the custom prompt for hunt group voice mail boxes. I have a VM collect short code of #xxx with number #"N" and when I dial *91450# I can hear my recording but when I dial #450 I hear the default lady voice greeting. Clearly I'm doing something wrong with the group voice mail boxes.
I think I have it fixed. Under the voicemail collect shortcode for group mailboxes I had #"N" instead of "#"N. Then I created a short code vm collect of just "?" that allows me to enter and re-record the greeting for any group mailbox. Shortcodes are great, just wish I knew more about them.
Sounds like you got it handled, just thought I would throw this out there. I had at time profile set on a RG and the end user was having the hardest time getting her correct greeting to play, because she had not recorded the off hours greeting just the general one. So after hours it kept playing the generic lady voice greeting instead of her custom one.
