Does anyone understand how to add parameters to a portlet?

I am trying to sync 5 form portlets on the same page given a parameter called ID. The forms ought to display the record with a matching ID.

So far, I understand how to do nearly everything in portal, but this concept still escapes me. The form components were created using portal's "create form based on table/view"

Any help or discussion is useful, thanks!

Just noticed this old post of mine and thought I'd post the answer I found. Wizard based forms do not have portlet parameters that you can use in a page.

You can build a form in a dynamic page and include a bind variable. Make the bind variable public (on one of the tabs when your creating the dyn page). Add the dynamic page as a portlet to a portal page. Edit properties for that portal page you placed the form portlet on. Go to the parameters tab, create a page parameter that will match up to your portlet parameter (the bind var), then click the triangle at the bottom by your portlet. Select page parameter from the drop box that appears. Another box appears, choose your page parameter you wish to map to your portlet parameter.

That's it. Now when you call the portal page such as this:

You can map several portlets to the same page parameter, or use several parameters independently.

Hope this helps someone.
