how to add wireless to small business lan

hello
we have 30 xp pc's with frac t1 internet via a cisco 1700 router.
we want to add wireless access for a few users.
now i'm unclear as to how the wireless router gets connected.
does it connect ot our switches or to the router?
does it get an internal ip (192.168.31.x) or an external one?

Seeing as you already have a router all you need is a wireless access point. The access point would need a lan IP address and clients would then connect to it. The following would be good for a business as it has better security than the standard soho models.
