how to add vg to HACMP resource.

hello gurus,

I have defined 2 new volume groups, now how can I add them to as part of HACMP resource? do i need to stop the cluster to do it?

1 . How did you create the volume groups ?

i.e. did you give them unique Major numbers
did you import VG to second box
did you turn off auto vary on and quorum
Have you created your cluster , network , and
resource group in HACMP ?

if so adding VG to HACMP is staright forward ?
DO you want all filesystems in VG to be mounted
by HACMP ? if so got to

smitty hacmp
cluster config
cluster resources
change / show resource group
Add volume groups to VOlume group field e.g VG1 VG1
save configuration ( press enter)
press f3 come out resource screen
Then synch resources

thanks for the prompt reply.

the cluster and resource group is existing. and yes i have given the VGs unique major number and imported them to the second box. Auto varyon is turned off.

ok i got the steps, but do i need to stop the cluster in doing so or can i do it on-the-fly?
