I am trying to add users for multiple domains. I would like to allow them to email and receive mail from my server. Let's say that I am running domain.com and I have a friend that has just set up domain2.com on my server.

He wants to be ablt to receive and send email from the server. How do I go about making neccessary changes to get it to work from say outlook or eudora?

If you've got examples, I would be really pleased!

Thanks in advance everyone! Rninja

He needs to edit his dns "A" record and add mail.domain2.com using your server's ip. Then edit/create the "MX" record to show mail.domain2.com handles mail for domain2.com. On your server, you need to allow relaying for domain2.com. To access mail on your system users have to have an account. They don't need their own home directory or group. You can create a dir called remote-users and a group called domain2 or what ever makes sense to you and assign all his users to that dir and group. In the case where user names such as webmaster and admin overlap, you will need to create a virtusertable because just aliasing webmaster to you@yourdomain.com would get confusing.

If these users will never log onto your system other than mail - the dir doesn't have to exist.
