How to add init string

When I updated my driver for Diamond Supra Modem Supra SST 56i DF7; Sup2770 PCI Modem Enumerator), my modem initial connection lengthen from 15 seconds to 27 seconds, although my connection speed increased from 33.6k to 46.6k (the one in the dual PC icon in systray). My setting in EXTRA SETTINGS from Control Panel>Modem>Properties>Connections>Advanced is
"E1" (w/out qoutes) automatically placed there by the updated driver. Is it possible to reduce these init speed?
