Hi guys, I'm quite new to DNS so please bear with me. I've come to a new environment which already has 2 DNS servers in place. I have added a new DC to a new site which also requires DNS to be configured and I'm not sure how to do it.

By the way, all servers are running 2003 and is in AD Integrated mode.

OK, so I select Add Roles and choose DNS. It goes through it's little process and the next screen I see says "Welcome to the configure a DNS server wizard". I hit next and it asks me to choose the configuration:
Create a forward lookup zone...
Create a forward and reverse....
Configure root hints only....

And here comes my uncertainty as the zone already exists on the other servers.

What do I do next?

The way I do this is;

Add the DNS component via add/remove programs. This adds the DNS server component without the config settings that the wizard asks for.

The DNS zone will then replicate to your DC within normal AD replication or scheduled replication if you have site links with a schedule in place.

To be sure check the DNS zone replication scope, view the properties of the zone - General - Replication

By default it is set to 'All DNS servers in the active directory domain' which is the one you want.
