How to add adobe acrobat reader 5 to IE 6 Browser

My OS is Windows XP Pro and I am unable to add adobe acrobate reader 5 to Internet Explorer 6 to automatically open 'PDF' files when downloaded from web sites. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I was able to this with IE 5.5 and windows 98 before I upgraded.
