I am new to Merlin...but an old dog on Definity and Partner systems. I have looked everywhere and can't find out how to add a SysAcc Voice - I button on these phones.

I don't have WinSPM as this is just a "project" system. I see where other extensions have the button...but I want to move it to a different position. I see the SysAcc Ring Button under "List Features". But how to program the Voice one?

Any help is appreciated!!

From the Programming console, Default is first port on first TDL/MLX card if first card is TDL (need a 4424LD+), if the first is MLX (need MLX-20L)
hit Menu> Sys Program> [Start(Merlin Magix) or Exit (Merlin Ledgend)]> more> Cntr-Prg> Program ext> {enter extension #] enter>
[select button you want to program (page 2 for Buttons 21-30)]*16
or this does the same
[select button you want to program] listfeature> more> more> more> more> SysAccess>

To change options, select the button again and

Ring delay (handy for cover buttons)
Immediate ring (default) *37
OR[select button] ListFeature> more> More> More> Ring Options>one Line> enter> Immed Ring> Enter>

Delayed ring *36
OR[select button] ListFeature> more> More> More> Ring Options>one Line> enter> Delay Ring> Enter>

No Ring *35
OR[select button] ListFeature> more> More> More> Ring Options>one Line> enter> No Ring> Enter>

All lines Immediate ring *347
OR[select button] ListFeature> more> More> More> Ring Options>All Lines> enter> Immed Ring> Enter>

All lines Delay ring *346
OR[select button] ListFeature> more> More> More> Ring Options>All Lines> enter> Delay Ring> Enter>

All lines No ring *345
OR[select button] ListFeature> more> More> More> Ring Options>All Lines> enter> No Ring> Enter>

Set SysAccess to ring (default) **19
Set SysAccess to Voice *19
all voice options are [button] ListFeatures> More> More> More> More> Voice Annce> [Place / Receive] enter> [Ring / Voice] Enter>

Auto Line Selection
*14 [push buttons in the order you want to access outgoing IE btn1, btn2, btn3, etc] **14
[button] ListFeature> AutoLineSel> [push buttons in the order you want to access outgoing IE btn1, btn2, btn3, etc] enter>

For most features,(except Auto Line Select) if you change your mind / screw up, before done, re touching [ your button] will abandon changes

You'll notice, its a lot easier to use the feature codes, then click through, go to

Look for the manual (every release doesn't have full manual)
You can also get WinSPM version 9 (latest version) at
scroll down on that page and you'll see this link

That is awesome info! Thanks so much!

Another quick question...how come I can't add members to a call group? I try to add an extention but it buzz's at me.

I don't have the correct cable to plug into the Admin port...so I can't use WinSPM. I have it downloaded already.

Not sure, depending on version, an extension can be a member of only ONE call group.
All versions, A Queued Call Console can't be a calling group member
You can't cover yourself, so if an extension is Group Coverage sender (1-30) that's covered by the group your trying to add it to, that could cause it to fail.
example voice mail extensions 7130-7142 are members of group 770, so 770 knows to answer the boss's phone, his extension is added to group cover 30, and calling group 770 is told to cover 30. group cover 30 can have any (I think a max of 20 per group) extensions BUT 7130-7142

As for WinSPM you can make your own 355A (wouldn't have protection, just connectivity)

Combine this with cat5 cables

"Correct cable"..... My suggestion would be just to get a 255 Adapter and what ever gender changers you need to connect up with. Yes, you can make your own, but the 355 is much easier.

355 is definitely easier (and safer for equipment), but sometimes you can't wait( or justify the expense for a practice system).

Of course, if he's got a modem, and a T/R card, he could dial in.

Is 770 the default voicemail call group?

Usually, 770 is used, but it's not required.
The only time the system forces you to use a specific call group is when you use the "auto configure" option (only works with merlin magix with a merlin messaging), then it forces you to use the last call group (default numbered as 7929, but can be renumbered).

PS probably better to start a new thread, rather than divert this one.
