How to add a Recorded Command to Keyboard?

Hello. I have what should be an easy question: I created a command using record Command. I then saved the command and named it. It shows up in the command menu and works fine. Now I want to assign a Keyboard Shortcut to the new command. But when I go into Keyboard Shortcuts it does not list my new command so I can't assign a key to it. Can someone help me out?
