Hi,

I have a crosstab report with 2 rows (account ID and account name) and have surpressed the subtotal for account name so that account ID & account name would be on 1 line. The format in design view is as follows:

design view:

Total Cost Column 1(user defined field)
Row 1 Row 2

Preview:
Total cost Group 1 Group 2
Acct ID Acct Name

is there a way for me to create a heading for Acct ID and Acct Name so that it is on the same line as total cost and the group names? I have created a text box, but that only appears on the 1st page. :( Please help!!

You can make the text box appear on following pages if you place it in a page header section and format it to "underlay following sections". The problem is that it is hard to align this consistently across pages.

Instead, you can create a formula like this:

whilereadingrecords;
"Acct ID and Acct Name"

Add it as the first row field in the crosstab and in the customize style tab, suppress the subtotal. This will result in the labels being to the left of the actual row, not above. I ordinarily rotate the text 90 degrees, center the field, and then drag the borders to make the column narrow.
