How to add a com port to red hat 8.0

Hi all

I installed rh 8.0 in duel boot with win 98.
I baught a zoom 56k/14.4k pci v90 fax,it says that it is hardware modem and that it works with Linux.

I installed it and it works great on win98. In win device manager it is on com 5.

I do believe that I need to make a linux port of ttyS4.
This is not in the PPP hard ware set up.I do not know how to do this. This is my first time trying to use linux.I this I need to recompile the Kernl but can not find in fow on doing it.
