Hello,

Does anybody knows how to activate Malicious Call Trace for extension to extension and external call to extension on MD110, type BC-8

Thanks in advance

FIKYU,

Firstly check with the carrier i.e. Telstra to see if the Malicious Call Trace Feature is available on your external lines, if so then get the service activated.

On the affected phone change the ADC to 00101013010 to allow MCT. If the phone is a digital then use KSFKC to program up an MCT key.

If the phone is an analogue then when a malicious call is received they would simply press recall/hook flash and then dial *39#. This will flag to the carrier that this is a malicious call, in the case of a digital they simply press the MCT key that is programmed.

Once captured then ring the nuisance calls department within your carrier with the approx date and time of the call, they will then look at the log and see that the PABX has flagged a call at that time. Generally you have to log a complaint to the police who will get the information off the carrier and follow up from there as the carrier is not legally allowed to give you the information.

As for internal calls I would think the best way would be to utilise a call accounting package (if you are using one). This also has an option to capture ext to ext calls that would have to be enabled.

Hope this of some help!
