How to access other users folders with IMAP?

Hi! We're using Exchange Server 5.5. I've connected to the exchange server using telnet and IMAP4. Login was successful and i can access all personal and public folders now. But i cannot access other users personal folders (I set the permissions accordingly in Outlook). It works fine with Outlook 97.
Any idea?
