How to access a proxy server?

Im using windows XP. I have this address of a high speed proxy server but it only can be used with my IE 6.

How do I use that server for other softwares too? Like ftp or KaZaa?

there should be somewhere in the options to set it, but you may have to open an additional port on the proxy , i dont know your setup but you definately have to specify the ip in options
