How To Abort MailMerge When Opening Word Doc

Is there a special key combination to have word abort a mailmerge when opening a document with a merge setup in it?

I need to see what MS Access query it is getting the data from - but it closes automatically and I can't get to the menu in the document.

If the merge is run by a macro, go to Tools-Options, General tab and turn macro virus protection on (and say no when you open the file) or in Word 2000, use Tools-Macro-Security and set security to high.
