how do i fill an object ive made from the line tool with gradient or fill...i know a stupid question for the board but im really impatient and cant figure it ou. thnx for the help.

At the bottom of the tool palette, there are two squares. One represents fill (top left), the other is the stroke/outline (bottom right). Click on the fill box to make sure it's in front. Now, select your object, and choose a color by doing one of the following:

* Double-click the fill box and choose a color. Or...
* Open the "color" palette (Window > Color) and choose a color. Or....
* Open the "swatches" palette (Window > Swatches) and choose a color. Or...
* Window > Swatch Libraries > (pick a library) and choose a color.

To get a gradient, look below the fill boxes, and there are three other boxes. The center box changes the fill to a gradient. To control the colors in the gradient, go to Window > Gradient to bring up the gradient palette. Under the gradient slider, there's a box a each end (unless you've changed it recently). Select each box in turn, and select a color using one of the techniques above.

Filling an object is a lot easier than explaining it, so don't worry about the long description! Just try it out and find the method that suits you.
