How similar is Solaris Vol Manager (SVM) comapred with SDS (Solstice Disk Suite)?

I have not used SVM but looks like a re-name (the commands look the same).
There are a few differences but not much to my knowledge.

Anyone noted much difference.

Thanks in advance!

I agree with you. It's the same product with a different name, as far as I know.

Chandu.

it's just a new name; some time ago it was called Online Disk Suite (ODS), then Solstice Disk Suite (SDS) and now Solaris Volume Manager (SVM). Every new release they added some new features, afaik SVM now has "softpartitions" and a special daemon to check the status of disks/metadevices...
