We have a 2003 SBS with Exchange running. I recently set up a second email domain as we carved out a part of our business as a stand alone entity. So I have abc.com and def.com mailboxes on the same exchange server. Now the larger part of our business has been merged with a company in the next city over. We are now ABC Company a division of XYZ Company and they want our emails under their domain. They are running 2007 Exchange. They don't want to VPN, yet... That may change in a couple of years though. They all just want to use the same email domain, so what's the best way to do this?

Thank you for all your help!

You could configure the domain (in an address policy) on your server, and then have the larger company just specify that any unresolved addresses should be smart-hosted to your server. HOWEVER, that's a poor way of doing it, as any spam attempt to bogus non-existent addresses will get forwarded to your server.

Dunno why they wouldn't want to VPN. It's not that complex.

Plan for performance, and capacity takes care of itself. Plan for capacity, and suffer poor performance.

58sniper, we over here use Frontbridge as a spam and encryption service so I don't think the spam would be much of a problem, though I'm not sure. I'm pushing for a VPN two forest trust solution as that will set us all up for any future issues.

Thanks for the help.
