I have linked cells from two spreadsheets to one central one using the paste link function. Is there a more reliable way of doing it or is Paste Link Ok.
Also is it better to have a central spreadsheet from which others are linked or should a daisy chain approach be used.
Any help would be great.

When you say spreadsheets, do you mean within one file, or do you mean multiple files?

Linking cells should be fine. Just make sure you don't move the files around because when the link says C:\my documents... and you move the file to C:\my projects... it won't find it. If you do lose a linked file, just hit Edit-Links, select the file you moved and show it where you moved it to.

I wouldn't want to deal with a daisy chain. I would summarize, for instance, all in one file. Don't forget, you can password protect sheets as well as files. You may only need to create one workbook with multiple sheets. Each sheet with a different password for the appropriate user of that sheet. This works great if you don't mind the others seeing the data but don't want them to be able to change it.

dreamboat@nni.com
<a href=
