I’ve got a report where each record has quite a few fields worth of data. What I’d like to be able to do is set up the page to print in two columns. Page Setup/Columns lets me set up multiple columns, but they don’t get expressed (at all) come print time. Is this because each record is basically using up a page worth of print real estate (i.e. not a columnar report)?

Much appreciated in advance. You guys rock! Hope everyone's Labor/Labour Day (in America/Canada) was great.

You don't say what did display: the data expected in the first column or something totally different?

The column display is based on the width of the columns vs the width of the page (minus margins). Once you've set the columns, you must only put fields within the width of the first column. Access will let you put the fields anywhere, but those to the right of the first column will not display.

Maybe I don't understand your question, but you don't get to decide which data goes into which column. Access will only put data in the 2nd column when there is overflow (vertically) from the first column. In other words, instead of going to a new page when the bottom of the page is reached, the data is wrapped into the 2nd column.

The fields in the report design which lie within the first column will get repeated in the other columns. Those fields must not have width which extends them into the 2nd column or the report will not display correctly.

Right.

What happens is that the column break never happens. When the report's information hits the bottom of page 1, column 1, a new page starts (page 2, column 1). Column 2 never "happens".

That would have been nice to know. SOrry 'bout that.

Thanks for the help.
